CombiBar technology is a relatively new introduction from Valcambi Suisse, and is a proprietary feature you’ll find only on the gold and silver bars from this refinery. CombiBar technology allows investors to purchase bulk orders of gold or silver in one singular bar, but then break those bars out into smaller, labeled proportions as they see fit.

With the CombiBar technology, precise breakpoints are included in the production of the bar. If an investor wants to break apart the bars for individual resale or easier storage, the product easily snaps along those lines without any loss of overall weight or metal content in the product. The 100 Gram Valcambi Gold Bar is just one example of this technology in action from the Swiss refiner.

On the obverse side of these 100 Gram Valcambi Gold Bars, you’ll find the individual information listed for each of the 100 separate 1 Gram gold bars. On each bar there is the Valcambi logo, the spiraling square symbol. There is also an engraving on each of the weight, purity, and metal content of the individual bar (1 G, Fine Gold, 9999). The assay card information is also visible on this side of the bar, with an orange stripe down the side that has the unique serial number for the overall 100 Gram bar listed in a two letter, six number code.

The reverse of the 100 Gram Valcambi Gold CombiBar presents the information for the overall product. On this side there are no individual bar markings, though you can see the breakpoints in the CombiBar technology. Engravings include the name of the refinery, the corporate logo, the weight, metal content, and purity of the bar, along with the individual serial number for the 100 Gram product.

Valcambi Suisse was founded in Balerna, Switzerland in 1961. It was originally known as Valori & Cambi until its 1968 purchase by Credit Suisse. Today, it is owned by Global Gold Refineries Ltd.
