Each one of the 1 oz Rand Refinery Gold Bars in this product listing comes individually packaged inside of a Rand Refinery assay card. The gold bar is sealed inside of a capsule in the center of the back with the Rand Refinery’s black assay card around the capsule within the sealed pack. Rand Refinery and its logo are featured at the top of the assay card with Rand Secure at the bottom of the card. The other side of the assay card includes the matching serial number, weight, and purity.

These Rand Refinery gold bars are examples of minted ingots. A minted ingot is an excellently refined piece of gold that has refined edges and elegant design elements. The Rand Refinery offers both minted ingots and cast gold bars, with weight options in the ingot range include 2 Gram, 5 Gram, 10 Gram, 20 Gram, 50 Gram, and 100 Gram options outside of these 1 oz gold bars.

Obverse design elements on the 1 oz Rand Refinery Gold Bar include a variety of identifying markers. The Rand Refinery name and logo are at the top of the design field, with the logo representing a melting pot from which gold is poured into casts during production. The periodic table of elements code for gold identifies the metal type alongside the purity, with a unique serial number inscribed at the bottom of the bar. These serial number codes all start with an RR followed by a six-digit numeric code.

The reverse face of the 1 oz Rand Refinery Gold Bar has a repeating design element reflective of the African continent. In this design, a mother elephant and her small calf are repeatedly shown marching in a line. While one line of the design moves right to left, the one below it moves left to right, and so on down the face of the bar. The small calf uses its trunk to hold its mother’s tail so it can stay close.
