The popular Goldback Series is back with another offering for those seeking a modern form of spendable gold. Goldbacks are unique in that each gold note has a small enough gold weight to justify spending the notes with vendors willing to accept gold. The newest series is the Wyoming Goldback.
The 1 Wyoming Gold Note is the smallest form of usable gold in the world with just 1/1000th Troy oz of 24-karat gold content. These notes are formed using proprietary processes that layer thin amounts of gold together in polymer sheets. Aurum gold notes are produced by Valaurum in the United States of America using 24-karat gold.
With the release of the Wyoming Goldback Gold Note, fans of spendable gold have another new option. It is important to note that Goldback Gold Notes are not legal tender. Instead, these are a form of voluntary currency that can be used in Wyoming for transactions with any vendor willing to accept gold for payment.
Obverse design elements on 1 Wyoming Goldback Gold Notes include a design honoring the indigenous people that have lived in the region for thousands of years. Here, an indigenous female gazes back at you. This rich design features wildflowers in the foreground, a bald eagle perched in front of the female, an American bison in the background, and the peak at Devils Tower in the far background. To the indigenous tribes of Wyoming, this butte is known as Bear’s Lodge.
For the reverse side, Wyoming Goldback Gold Notes are devoid of a specific design. Given the thin nature of the gold notes, any designs on this side would interfere with the obverse imagery. As such, this side shows only the mirror images from the obverse.
