The White Greyhound of Richmond dates all the way back to the 14^th century. John of Gaunt, the third son of King Edward III, carried the White Greyhound in his personal badge as the steward of the House of Richmond. When Edmund Tudor was made Earl of Richmond, he continued the use of the White Greyhound of Richmond. When Edmund Tudor’s son, Henry Tudor, became King Henry VII of England, the White Greyhound made it all the way to the Royal Arms of England through the newly formed House of Tudor.

On the obverse of 2022 British Platinum Queens Beast White Greyhound Coins is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is captured in this design by Jody Clark in right-profile relief. The image shows the Queen age the age of 89 wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown on her head. The background field includes a guilloche design element.

The reverse side of the 2022 1 oz Platinum Queens Beast White Greyhound Coin comes with a depiction of the White Greyhound species. The dog is shown in support of the House of Tudor seal, a crowned shield with a smaller rose at the center of a larger rose.
