Appearing for one of the first times on British coins during his reign, this new left-profile bust of Charles III depicts the new monarch without a crown. Martin Jennings created this bust of His Majesty following the passing of Her Late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

The reverse side of the 2023 1 oz Gold Merlin Coin comes with a depiction of the famous sorcerer by David Lawrence. The image shows Merlin’s figure draped in robes with an owl on his right shoulder and a mystical staff in his left hand.
