Description
The 2023 1oz St. Helena Pegasus coins featuring King Charles III are available in protective plastic flips, tubes of 20, sleeves of 100, or boxes of 500 coins. The artwork on the coins is designed by Jennie Norris, and each coin contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition. Additionally, the coin has a face value of 1 Pound that is supported by the Issuing Authority of St. Helena.
The obverse of the coin showcases King Charles III in left-profile relief, with identifying marks surrounding the image. On the reverse, you’ll find the majestic Pegasus, which is depicted in left-profile relief with its wings extended up and back. The design is also framed within an intricate pattern.
Jennie Norris, who is also the designer of the new bald eagle design on the American Gold Eagle Coins from the US Mint, is the designer of this beautiful coin. Each 2023 1 oz St. Helena Silver Pegasus Coin is available in BU condition and comes in individual protective plastic flips.
Coins in multiples of 20 will arrive in tubes, while sleeves of 100 coins and boxes of 500 are also available. It’s worth noting that Pegasus was an immortal winged horse in Greek mythology. It’s widely believed that Pegasus was the offspring of Poseidon and Medusa. The most well-known story is that Pegasus sprang from the blood of the Gorgon Medusa after she was beheaded by Perseus. Bellerophon captured this creature and rode him in his fight against Chimera. Pegasus became a constellation and the servant of Zeus. It’s also the 7th largest constellation in the Celestial Sphere.
