Introduced in 2006, the Austrian Silver Philharmonic Coin became an overnight sensation on the European continent. At this point in time, the only other major silver bullion coin program in Europe was the British Britannia.
Today, the Austrian Silver Philharmonic maintains a major presence in European and North American bullion markets. The coins have a static design concept with Thomas Pesendorfer’s 1989 designs for the gold coins used on the obverse and reverse of the silver coins each year.
Obverse imagery on the 2023 1 oz Silver Philharmonic Coin features the Great Pipe Organ. The organ within the Musikverein is the third iteration of such an organ, with two previous organs installed and used in the structure in the 19th century following the hall’s completion in the 1870s.
Reverse design elements on 2023 Austrian Silver Philharmonic Coins include a cluster of musical instruments. In honor of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, this design element includes a cello, four violins, a harp, a bassoon, and a horn.
These 2023 1 oz Austrian Silver Philharmonic Coins are available to you individually or in bulk. Individual coins are housed in plastic flips. Multiples arrive in either acrylic tubes of 20 coins or Monster Boxes of 500 coins. Each Monster Box holds a total of 25 tubes of 20 coins. All of the coins available in this listing are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
