The Canadian Silver Maple Leaf is one of the best-selling silver coins in the world and is produced annually by the Royal Canadian Mint. It is only surpassed in demand by the American Silver Eagle. However, the Silver Maple Leaf is one of the few coins available in .9999 pure silver. The 2023 1 oz Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coins are now available to purchase online from Metals Mint. The coins come in protective flips, tubes of 25, or mint-sealed Monster Boxes of 500 coins.

These coins are the 35th date in the 1 oz Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Series and contain 1 Troy oz of .9999 pure silver in BU condition. They are issued with a face value of $5 (CAD) by Canada. The obverse features Queen Elizabeth II, while the reverse features a sugar maple leaf design. A laser-engraved privy is also on the reverse.

The Canadian Maple Leaf series began in 1979, with gold bullion coins issued first. The series expanded to include 1/4 and 1/10 oz coins in 1982 and a 1/2 oz coin in 1986. In 1988, the Royal Canadian Mint launched the Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coin, the world’s first .9999 pure silver bullion coin. Today, the Silver Maple Leaf remains one of the most popular silver coins in the market.

The 2023 1 oz Silver Maple Leaf Coins will feature Queen Elizabeth II’s fourth-generation portrait for the final time, as she passed away in September 2022. Future issues will feature an effigy of King Charles III, but early issues will continue with the Queen’s portrait. The sugar maple leaf design on the reverse was created by Walter Ott in 1979 and was initially only featured on the gold bullion coins in the series.

These 2023 1 oz Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coins are available individually in plastic flips, or in multiples of 25 in protective tubes or 500 in mint-sealed Monster Boxes. All specimens are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
